WHY NOW

The prominent center of spiritual and cultural activity— “Saint Sophia” church—suddenly lost its beloved priest and leader—Fr. Grouu Tzonkov. He was the champion and organizer of the construction and continued beautification of the church and social hall. But God’s work in Chicago does not stop here! We are uniting to maintain and grow this beautiful center, but it needs your support.

The remaining mortgage of $800,000 is a big challenge—but surmountable, if we all come together. In this difficult time, let us preserve and strengthen “Saint Sophia” church so it can continue to unite us in our love for Jesus Christ, and for the Bulgarian cultural heritage and traditions!
